Story

stranded on the cursed Isle of Seiren. Adol, an adventurer, and other castaways embark on a journey to explore the island. Surviving and establishing a village Through dreams and visions, a blue-haired maiden named Dana, named Dana, meets Adol and helps him throughout his adventure.

Gameplay

Firstly, take note that Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is the third game to use the party system. This means you control one main character as well as two additional AI. Basically, the game has 3 main types of attacks: slash, pierce, and strike damage. Therefore, you have plenty of potential to show in fights, as you can prioritize using the right type to deal more damage. Exploiting enemies’ weaknesses is a crucial part of playing the game. For that to happen, you switch between the 3 characters you chose from the menu. However, these characters are only accessible if you unlock them during your journey. 
Secondly, in Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana. Each character has up to four unique abilities that can be unleashed using SP. You can swap between skills and upgrade them to perfection. There is also a fifth attack called “Extra skill”, usable when the “Extra” meter is full. 
As for movements, there are two types of parry attacks. Flash move and flash guard The first one gives immunity and guarantees critical strikes for a certain amount of time. While the second one slows down your surroundings, allowing you to go all out. Finally, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana gives you many types of monsters and enemies to defeat. Every one of them has their own weaknesses and abilities to watch out for.
