First look on Rain World: Downpour

Rain World: Downpour is a 2D survival platform game with single-player and multiplayer modes. Developed by Videocult and published by Akurapa Games It’s set to release on January 19, 2023, on PC via Steam, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.

Story

Rain World: Downpour is a new sequel to the previous one. In a broken ecosystem, you, a slug cat, fight for your life as both predator and prey. Hunt with your spear to survive and take care of bigger monsters lurking in the shadows.

Gameplay

Moving on to the actual gameplay of Rain World: Downpour. The game is almost the same as the last sequel with a few new features. Firstly, there is new territory to discover across many new maps.Accordingly, you now have access to many slugcats. all with unique abilities, skillsets, gameplay styles, and stories. Secondly, there are two new modes: a survival mode in which you see how long you can survive on your own.The second mode spawns you randomly across the map, where you need to complete a task through many challenges. Accordingly, you can play with up to 3 friends and see for yourself if having friends in this dark world is of any use.
Thirdly, Rain World: Downpour makes the game more fun with the 5 new playable slug cats. Which consist of An aquatic evolved slug cat that breaths longer under water. An indulger of the simpler pleasures in life that manipulates objects on his way. A fierce combatant master of explosives, An abnormality with no mouth that uses needles pulled from its body for combat and to feed. And finally the saint that uses its long tongue to grip far away objects or platforms.
