Raiden IV: Mikado Remix is a 2007 vertical scrolling shooting video game developed by MOSS. Back in 2008, it was first released in arcades in Japan, and then on Xbox 360. This classic arcade shoot’em up comes fully equipped with new music, battle modes, and vertical screen play. It will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 Series S/X PCs via Steam and Nintendo Switch on January 31, 2023.

Story

Raiden IV: Mikado Remix is an arcade game, so it features the classic vertical scrolling and top-down aerial combat that the shoot ’em up genre is known for. However, this title’s arsenal of gameplay modes, remixed music, new play styles, and more are what set it apart from the competition.

Gameplay

Moving on to the gameplay. Raiden IV: Mikado Remix is similar to any other arcade shoot ’em up game, starting with slow shots. You can switch to other weapons by using crystals found on the map. To begin with, the color of the crystals indicates the type of weapon: red for machine guns and blue and purple for two different lasers.Accordingly, the more gems you pick up for the same weapon, the stronger the weapon is and the higher its level. This allows players to adapt depending on the situation and recover better after death.
Secondly, players in Raiden IV: Mikado Remix can choose from up to three ships. Thirdly, the scoring system is unique in that it gives higher scores to players who finish up enemies faster during the 5 to 7 levels of the game, depending on the mode. This takes us to the last point, which is about the game’s modes. Overkill Mode, In-Score Attack Mode, and finally Boss Rush are all available. Each of them has a unique playstyle and different ways to score more points.
