Mobile Legends Southeast Asian Games (SEA) 2023: Schedule and Format
The highly anticipated Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports tournament for the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) is set to commence in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from May 10 to May 14, 2023. This year, the tournament will feature a separate women’s competition under the Female Category, as part of the medal event, for the first time on May 10-11, 2023. The Male Category matches will follow on May 12-14, 2023. Here’s everything you need to know about the tournament’s schedule and format.
Tournament Format
The teams will be divided into two (2) groups for the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang SEA Games tournament, which will be held at the Naba Theatre in NagaWorld 2, Phnom Penh. The six nations competing in the Female Category are Indonesia, Cambodia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Laos, and Vietnam.
On May 10, 2023, all matches in the Female Category will be played in a single-elimination, best-of-one (Bo1) format. The top two teams from each group will then compete for the championship title and podium positions in a best-of-five (Bo5) match series on May 11, 2023.
In contrast, the Male Category will feature nine nations, namely the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Laos, Timor Leste, Cambodia, Myanmar, Singapore, and Indonesia. The tournament will kick off on May 12, 2023, with Group A playing a single-elimination Bo1 match series.
On May 13, 2023, Group B’s playoffs will begin in the same format. The top two teams from each group will then advance to the following round in a best-of-three (3) series.
The grand final, which is set to take place on May 14, 2023, will feature a best-of-five (Bo5) format. The winners will be crowned as the champions of the Mobile Legends Southeast Asian Games (SEA) 2023.
